The EPA has committed to a plan for cleaning up PCB contamination that has moved downstream of the former Ward Transformer industrial facility near Raleigh Durham International Airport. This downstream area is referred to as Operable Unit 1 (OU1), and includes portions of Little Brier Creek, Brier Creek, Brier Creek Reservoir, Lake Crabtree, and Lower Crabtree Creek (see map below).
